Bellevue Rail Assembly Facility for the Public Transport Authority

In February 2020, FIRM Construction commenced with the construction of the PTA Bellevue Rail Assembly Facility in Midlands. The site required some preparation, including the removal of buried items, boiler ash, and ACM, and the management of high groundwater levels.

The project team commenced then with the construction of the multi-functional rail assembly and maintenance facility for the METRONET railcars.

The 180m long facility incorporates rail tracks, two 25T overhead cranes, heavy maintenance railroad equipment, turntables, buffer stops, and overhead line equipment (OLE).
The building is fitted-out with modern offices and includes workshop and storage areas. Outside finishes include large car park areas and access road modifications.

Entry of Service and Final Asset Acceptance

FIRM Construction developed a detailed understanding of PTA contract specifications, and safety and quality control documentation requirements.

This included the correct management of the Entry of Service and Final Asset Acceptance process to hand over the facility on time.

Interface Management

The project has been linked to other METRONET project milestones and required collaborative project management with the client, design and engineering teams, various subcontractor crews, local authorities, and other contractors on site.
