FIRM Construction is building new facilities for the State and private educational organisations across the state.
FIRM Construction completed the East Perth TAFE building training centre, 17 primary school upgrades in the Building Education Revolution Program and is now commissioned to undertake several high school additions and upgrades.
We have recently completed the new Broome North Primary School in the town’s newest housing subdivision area and the middle school facility in Halls Creek, middle schools for Duncraig and Shenton College and a multi user sport facility at Perth Modern. Our latest work is the new addition to Guildford Grammar and Perth College.
Description: FIRM Construction was engaged to construct Perth College’s newest learning centre. The Excelsior House is a multifunctional centre that enables a flexible curriculum delivery. The building features floor to ceiling glass panels, open lecture theatres, collaborative reconfigurable classrooms, a basement and a dining room for boarders.
The use of American Oak is consistent throughout the building’s internal fit-out; such as windows, flooring and joineries. The building is fully equipped with sophisticated technology to enhance student’s learning experience. VRV/VRF heat recovery and inverter system has been integrated to the building’s infrastructure. The vibrant coloured furniture helps nourish student’s creativity.
An innovative and forward-thinking approach was utilised when executing this project. The school was in full operation throughout the project’s lifecycle.
Description: The Kennedy Baptist College Project was executed in multiple stages; FIRM Construction was engaged to build the last two stages, with the construction of a new science block and creative arts facilities.
The science laboratories were designed to maximise student engagement and the open plan art studios encourage a culture of innovation and creative thinking.
The school was in full operation throughout the project’s lifecycle.
Description: The Kennedy Baptist College Project was executed in multiple stages; FIRM Construction was engaged to build the last two stages, with the construction of a new science block, creative arts facilities and an indoor sporting complex.
The indoor sporting complex comprises of a multi-sport court, retractable bleachers seating for spectators, change room facilities and a fully equipped gym.
The school was in full operation throughout the project’s lifecycle.
Description: FIRM Construction has completed the extensions and refurbishments to Armadale Senior High School. The works include the construction of a new cafeteria and an enclosed dining area; a new commercial kitchen fit-out, including a built-in freezer and cool rooms; the refurbishment of food technology and metalwork classrooms, along with eight additional new welding bays; and the supply and installation of new metalwork type machinery.
The school was in full operation throughout the Project’s lifecycle. Our team placed additional security measures to ensure the safety of the students, staff and local community. FIRM Construction consulted with the school management and other stakeholders throughout the Project, to minimise the disturbance to the community.
Description: FIRM Construction was engaged to construct a new classroom block at Spring Hill Primary School. The full scope of works includes six classrooms; three bathrooms; common areas; office spaces; car parks; and a new playing oval with 15,00m2 turf installed.
The interior features vibrant colours to motivate students’ innovative learning.
Description: Guildford Grammar School’s new Preparatory School buildings’ state of the art facility built specifically for the students. The project includes the construction of three buildings and double storeys classroom blocks, with an overhead link for easy access; a new administration building; and, a full fit-out commercial kitchen and canteen facilities.
On top of this, FIRM Construction completed a forward work demolition, civil and services packages, as well as full internal fit-out of the new buildings. We delivered an aesthetic friendly fit-out with polished timber cabinetries, high-quality surface finishes and fixtures.
The school was fully operational throughout the project’s lifecycle – additional safety precautionary plan was adopted such as traffic and noise management to ensure the safety of students and staff, and minimising the disturbance during school hours. In result, no lost time in injury was recorded for the entirety of this project.
Description: FIRM Construction was engaged to construct the Broome North Primary School. The scope of work includes the construction of a new administration building; a dental clinic; office-space; a library; sporting oval with cricket pitch; multi-sport court; and, external landscaping.
As the school is located in a cyclone prone area, specific materials were used – steel frames, colour bond sheeting and cyclone rated windows. HVAC system was installed to create an airtight space to prevent moisture build-up. Drainage gullies and swales were built to anticipate large rainfalls.
The Project was completed on time and defects completed prior to handover.
Description: The Halls Creek District High School Project involves the demolition of the existing buildings to make space for the construction of four new blocks.
The new building blocks consist of science and woodwork; performing arts; trades skills and land care; and, a trade careers centre. On top of this, FIRM Construction was engaged to build a new shade structure within the school grounds, additional footpaths to connect the new building blocks and a brand new concrete multi-sport court and school’s access roads.
Halls Creek District High School was fully operational throughout the project’s lifecycle.
Description: The Project scope includes the construction of a new administration building; three Year Seven classroom blocks; a car park; and, a full fit-out of the new facilities. Additional works include full landscaping works; an outdoor amphitheatre; and outdoor recreational areas. New vibrant fit-outs were designed to entwine with the school’s environment.
We engaged experienced subcontractors who have worked with us in a similar environment. As a result, works were carried out with minimal disruption.
For the safety of students and staff, disruptive works were carried outside of school hours. For this reason, we also consulted with the school throughout the project lifecycle.
Description: FIRM Construction was engaged to build the school’s new gymnasium and to refurbish the pre-existing physical education block.
The new gymnasium consists of indoor multi-sport court, office space, tea-prep area, equipment storage facilities, and shower facilities. The refurbishment works for the pre-existing physical education block includes the construction of a new walkway to link the school’s canteen and the new gymnasium.
